Day 36

I can't figure out why it has taken me so long to work with this color combination. I love it! I feel like this headband truly shows my personality. It's kind of like an outdoorsy, vintage/hippy look.

Day's 32-35 : Crazy weekend; craft fair bust

Follow on twitter @SkylyLove

Sorry for the delay in getting the pictures up of the headbands. It's was a busy weekend, and a gloomy one at that. I know some of you were interested to know how the craft fair went at Bedners Farm; needless to say it was a bust :( The weather was absolutely horrid, not to mention the "Whoopie Pie" stand that set their huge tent with walls up, right next to out table, blocking us from any potential customers. I should have taken pictures ,totally forgot. I have to say, it was a learning experience.

This super fun, colorful headband is sure to spice up the party! Day 30 of the headband challenge, tomorrow will be a month since my start!  I can't believe I've managed to make 30 different ones.  I'm a bit overwhelmed to think that I still have 70 more to go.

Day 29 - Nothing is for free

Follow on Twitter @SkylyLove

Does this headband look familiar? If it does it's because it's similar to one of my early headbands I called "Simply Skyly", pictured below.

So I decided to take my classic headband and make it a little more affordable by using chiffon instead of 100% polyester ribbon. I also switched out the rhinestone lace for birdcage veiling. I love this look and am hoping to sell a few this Saturday at my first craft fair at Bedners Farm in Boyton Beach.
I have to admit, I'm very nervous. I have no idea what to expect, so I've decided to expect nothing, that way I'm not disappointed.  It seems like all to often, people expect free handouts simply because it's "home-made".  They don't see the hard work I put into it and the many hours spent trying new colors and styles together. Not to mention supplies. It costs actual money to produce these headbands. I encourage anyone who enters a "giveaway" or receives something for free from any business or person, be thankful. That may have been free to you, but someone payed for it.
