Day 25 - Getting more personal

Follow on twitter @SkylyLove

I haven't made a "froofy-girly" headband like this in a while so I thought it was time.  I'm thinking I'm going to start something new and talk about how each headband pertains to what's going on in my life, or my head. I want to be a real person to you all, not just another business.
Starting with this really girly headband, which if you know me I'm not a girly-girl by any means. Surprising right? You would think someone in the headband business would be.
Some of you may not know this, but Skyly Love is my daughters name. A lot of people ask us how we came up with it: it wasn't easy.  My husband and I both loved the name Sky but had a hard time coming up with a middle name that we really liked for a one-syllable first name. "Sky Love" just didn't seem right. So we added the "ly" for a better flow. Now why "Love"? It's the first "Fruit of the Spirit" from
Galatians 22-23. We may start a trend where each of our children will have a fruit of the Spirit for their middle name. Not to say that one of our kids will have "Self-Control" as their middle name, but maybe "Bhagyanandana" which is Sanskrit for self control. Wait, was that a bad example? Ummm... maybe this isn't going to work out after all!
Ha! Oh well.
Back to this headband. It's really girly, right? I realized the other day how much of a girly-girl Sky is. I finally got my 14 month old a pair of shoes (yeah I'm a bad parent, whatever).  I just don't see why kids need shoes, but I guess it's socially acceptable and blah blah blah blah blah. Honestly I was just sick of the looks I got any time I put her down in public. There feet! Their supposed to be dirty!  I apologize for my little rampage. The sandals I bought for her are so cute. When I got home with them and she saw them, her face lit up. She sat right on my lap and offered me her cute little feet. I put them on, put her down and marveled as she paced the floor, back and forth, starring at her new shoes. As tom-boyish as I've always been, I never imagined enjoying my little girl in all her girly-glory as much as I am.
